Practical information

Your application has been processed and you have been notified of your successfully registration. Congratulations! Now you have to select the place and date of the photo session you want to participate in so that you can secure your seat for your portrait shoot. 

There are sessions planned in Brussels and Ghent. We will soon add Antwerp in January and February 2025. Liège may be next in 2025, depending on the level of participation. In the same vein, Namur, Mons and Charleroi could be added to the list of Belgian cities before extending abroad. 

Also good to know that it is possible to organise a photo session in a private location if there is enough room to install our portable studio setup and if there are at least three participants or more. If this is the case, don’t hesitate to contact us to arrange such shooting.

What to expect at the photoshoot

On the day of the shoot, please be on time. Let us know in advance if you need time for example to check your hair or perform finishing touches to your makeup. We will plan accordingly so that you can arrive calm and relaxed on the set. 

We will start off the shooting by giving some simple directions to ensure you are in the most flattering light and position. We will guide and direct you as and when needed.
Don’t be afraid to chat with us during the shoot. It is a collaboration so please feel free to share your thoughts and ideas.

Our aim is to capture your personality and the essence of the real you. We are convinced that the more you are relaxed and the shoot enjoyable, the more natural and authentic the photos will be.

During the session, we may show you one or two of the early images so that you can visualise the concept but we won’t show every photo to not disrupt the natural flow of the shoot. If something doesn’t look right on camera, we will tell you.

The shooting should last about 30 minutes.

What to expect after the photoshoot

Once the photoshoot is completed, the processing of the photos can begin.

First we download the pictures and back them up to keep them safe. Then we start reviewing and culling the photos. A first selection is made. These pictures are lightly edited: colour correction, contrast and exposure, cropping and straightening. 

The photos are then uploaded to an online gallery. We will email you the log-in details to your gallery. It is a private gallery so only the people you give the password to will be able to view the photos. 
In your gallery, you can mark your favourites pictures and leave some comments. You can also download the photos of your choosing directly from the gallery. The number of downloads is unlimited. 

You are entitled to choose one photo among your favourite ones to receive it in high definition. This is your reward from us to thank you for your participation to our special project. If desired we can perform a complimentary edit of that photo to make sure your favourite portrait meets your expectations down to the smallest detail. 

It usually takes around two to three weeks for your photos to be ready.
Your gallery will be available for at least 3 months during which time you can view and download your photos as often as you like.

FAQ

We will provide you with the exact address and driving directions per email a week or two ahead of the photoshoot. 

There won’t be any make-up artist. We want to take your photograph as close as you are in real, everyday life. Of course, you can make your own make-up and do your hair as you see fit. 

Note that no products or accessories will be made available for hygiene reasons. You will have to bring your own equipment. A dedicated space with a mirror will of course be available.

A specific area will be available so that you can change clothes and dress up if needed.

If you want to change your outfit during the photo session, it is possible. However be mindful of the time and please do not take up the time of the next candidate.

If really desired, we can plan ahead and factor the time needed for extra outfit changes.

We recommend that you wear clothes that you are comfortable in and/or that represent you in everyday life or in activities that you particularly enjoy. 

However, it’s better to avoid clothes with heavy patterns or with very pronounced colours of all sorts.

Plain light or dark clothing is recommended. Clothes with textures or pleats are perfectly acceptable if they are solid colours.

Our style of photo is a bit low key, where shadows and contrasts carve out the features of the face in the photo.
On the darker end of the light spectrum, particularly for men, lighter and more subtile for women.

However we can do high key photos for women or men if a clean, light and crisp look is preferred. 

You will get a selection of the best photos from the shooting in low definition, made available through a private online gallery with unlimited downloads.

You will receive one photo of your choice from that selection in high-definition.
