2024 – 2025

We are currently working on a creative photographic project that focuses on the strong bounding people may experience with Korea, the country, the culture, the people. The exploration of the diverse nature of these powerful emotional ties will form the main theme of this project.

Artistic Interpretation

Like a diamond only shines thanks to its many facets, we will first seek to capture the portrait of numerous candidates before we explore the variety of the “witnesses” and visually give shape to our interpretation of Korean bound, love and sense of belonging. 

Photoshoot Candidates

We are looking for people who would like to take part in this artistic project by posing during photo shoots. Our aim is to capture the personality and the essence of the real self of each candidate. We want our photos to be authentic and to depict the person photographed as faithfully as possible.

Candidates must be 18 years old or have the authorisation of their parents or legal guardian to take part and meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • be of Korean origin (i.e. have an ancestor of Korean origin)
  • be born in Korea or have lived there for 1 year or more
  • have a deep attachment to Korea and Korean culture

Close relatives (partners, children of participating candidates) and individual decorated for outstanding contribution to the Korean nation are also eligible to participate.

Registration process

Various photo sessions will be organised in Belgium from April 2024 until March 2025. Then the project is expected to extend to neighbouring countries, according to a schedule yet to be determined, depending on the local interest and success of our creative initiative.

Multiple photo shoots will be planned in different locations during one year. Photo sessions dates and locations will be announced through our website and the social media accounts and communication channels of a selected number of interest groups. 

Prospective candidates are advised to apply to the session(s) that suit(s) them most. They can apply by filling in the application form below. All participants will receive details about the venue per email once their registration form has been processed and their successful enrolment confirmed. 

Participation in the photo shoots is free of charge. Participants will not be remunerated, but will receive a high-resolution electronic copy of their photo instead. Candidates must formally agree to have their photo taken and give their consent to the use of these photographs for the purposes of the project. A document to this effect must be signed at the start of the photo session. If a candidate is less than 18 years old, his or her parents or legal guardian will have to sign the document.
